On April 14, 1982, the USPS issued a set of 50 stamps commemorating the State Birds & Flowers. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp depicting the State Bird (Purple Finch) & Flower (Lilac) of New Hampshire, cancelled from the city of issue (Concord, NH) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features a male and two female Purple Finches perched on Lilac branches. The cachet is surrounded by an embossed border. The producer of this cover has also written a brief commentary about the Purple Finch and the fragrant Lilac.
Matted in blue, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
