On July 14, 1951, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Settlement of Nevada. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, depicting the 1st Settlement in 1851, cancelled from the city of issue (Genoa, NV) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features a mile train bringing settlers into a Nevada town.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
