Nellie Cashman.... On October 18, 1994, the USPS issued a set of 20 stamps called Legends of the West.
This stamp is one of those and honors a woman who blazed a trail from
Boston to San Francisco to Virginia City, Nevada to Tombstone, Arizona,
and the Klondike - Nellie Cashman. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Laramie, Wyoming) on the first day of issue captioned above. In short, it's the 'birthday' of the stamp - a collectible, historic piece of postal and Western memorabilia.
The full-color cachet
(artwork on the envelope) shows a portrait of Cashman with family
photos and an advertisement for one of her several restaurants. The
company that produced this cover has also written a brief commentary of
Nellie Cashman, which we have included. You'll love reading more about
this fascinating woman of The West.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY PLUS COMMENTARY INCLUDED***
