On July 4, 1991, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the American Flag and Mt. Rushmore. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Mt. Rushmore, South Dakota) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the U.S. Flag over Mt. Rushmore printed on silk for an almost 3-dimensional appearance.
