On August 7, 2006, the USPS issued a set of four stamps to commemorate four different American Motorcycles....a 1940 Indian, a 1918 Cleveland, a 1965 Harley-Davidson, and a c.1970 Chopper. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp for the 1918 Cleveland cancelled from the city of issue (Sturgis, South Dakota - to mark the 66th anniversary of the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Ralley) on the first day of issue captioned above.  The full-color stamp depicts an A2 model built by the Cleveland Motorcycle Manufacturing Company, one, of which is proudly displayed in the Smithsonian Institution. Note the special motorcycle postmark designed to cancel these stamps on their 'birthday.'

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope created by a private company, not the USPS) features a racing biker. It's printed on silk, the luster, lending an-almost three dimensional quality to the picture.

Double matted in blue and white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
