On February 12, 1955, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 100th anniversary of the First Land Grant Colleges - Michigan State and Pennsylvania State. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (East Lansing, Michigan) on the first day of issue captioned above, which is the founding date for Michigan State.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a photo of President Lincoln with members of his cabinet signing the Land Grant Bill as well as the seals for each university.

Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
