On April 8, 1984, the USPS issued a set of four airmail stamps to commemorate the summer Olympics being held in Los Angeles in 1984. Shown here is an envelope with the stamp for Men's Gymnastics cancelled from the city of issue (Los Angeles, CA) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a male gymnast on the Rings, an event requiring an extraordinary amount of upper body strength, balance and stamina. The producer of this cover has also included a commentary about this event, the most spectacular of the men's competition. Historic, collectible, this is a great piece of Gymnastic Memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
