On January 23, 1974, the USPS issued a stamp to honor the first woman to receive a medical diploma in the U.S., Elizabeth Blackwell. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Geneva, NY) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Blackwell. This is a wonderful collectible, historic piece of medical memorabilia, particularly for a woman doctor.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  This is but one of the many medical pieces offered by Wall Art Collectibles***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED ***
