Florence Sabin was the first woman to graduate from Johns Hopkins as well as teach at Johns Hopkins; in fact, she was the first woman ever appointed a full professor in a medical college. She was elected first woman prsident of the American Association of Anatomists and the first lifetime woman member of the National Academy of Sciences. Shown here is a genuine Commemorative Cover, an envelope with the postmark of Denver, Colorado (she was born in Central City, CO) on November 9, 1984 (the anniversary of her birth.)
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Florence Sabin, respected for her medical research. The producer of this cover has also written a brief commentary about Sabin, which we've included.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. This is but one of the many medical pieces offered by Wall Art Collectibles. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY PLUS COMMENTARY INCLUDED ***
