The USPS honored the American classic by Mark Twain, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer with a stamp in 1972. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Hannibal, Mo.) on the first day of issue (October 13, 1972.)

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features Tom white-washing the fence (also shown on the stamp) and a portrait of Samuel Clemens Historic, collectible, it's double matted in  blue & white and will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
