On January 15, 1989, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Statehood of Montana. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp, depicting artwork titled "C.M. Russell and Friends," cancelled from the city of issue (Helena, MT) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The sepia-toned cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features the State of Montana, the Capitol Building in Helena, and the State Bird and Flower. The company that produced this cover has written a brief commentary about Montana, which we've included.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
