On November 8, 1939, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Statehood of Montana, Washington, North Dakota and South Dakota. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, depicting all four states, cancelled from the city of issue (Helena, MT) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) again features all four states with a group of pioneers in their Conestoga Wagon making their trek West.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
