On June 3, 1950, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the incorporation of Kansas City, Missouri, the Westport Landing that served as the starting point of 3 Famous Transcontinental Trails - The Santa Fe, The Oregon, and The California.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, depicting Kansas City in 1850 and 1950, cancelled from the city of issue (Kansas City, MO) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features pioneers heading west.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
