On April 7, 1948, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the old Mississippi Territory.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, depicting Mississippi, the Seal of the Mississippi Territory, and Governor Winthrop Sargent, cancelled from the city of issue (Natchez, MS) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features a Mississippi Steamboat.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
