On December 11, 1967, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Statehood of Mississippi. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Natchez, MS) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features the Great Mississippi Steamboat Race in 1870 between the Robert of E. Lee and Natchez.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
