On October 17, 1970, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating Ft. Snelling, located at the confluence of the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, cancelled from the city of issue (Ft. Snelling, MN) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features a drummer boy as well as a river boat.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
