In 2004, the USPS began a three-year salute to the characters of Walt Disney - four different stamps for each year. The first year celebrated 'Friendship.' Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with one of the four stamps in the series depicting the intrepid trio of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy, cancelled from the city of issue ( Annaheim, CA) on the first day of issue (June 23, 2004.) Note the special postmark featuring Mickey Mouse, designed to cancel this set of stamps on their 'birthday.'
