Miami University.... On February 17, 2009, the USPS issued an imprinted postcard with the imprint or "stamp" commemorating the 200th Anniversary of Miami University named for the Miami Indian Tribe which inhabited the area known today as the Miami Valley region of Ohio. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, in this case a postcard with the imprint or "stamp" cancelled from the city of issue (Oxford, Ohio) the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts beautiful MacCracken Hall (named
for Henry MacCracken, an 1857 graduate who became the chancellor of New
York University), also featured on the "stamp." The photo is printed on
silk, the luster lending an almost three dimensional look to the picture. It's surrounded in a solid gold metallic border.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
