Mayo Brothers.....

On September 11, 1964, the USPS issued a stamp to honor William James Mayo and Charles Horace Mayo for their establishment of the Mayo Clinic of St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. and their endowment of $1,500,000 to establish the Mayo Foundation for medical research and education.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Rochester, Mn.) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features black and white portraits of each brother as well as the logo for the Mayo Foundation.  We have double matted this piece in green & white.  It will fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
