On February 6,1988, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the Statehood of Massachusetts. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, depicting the Brattle Street Church, cancelled from the city of issue (Boston, MA) on the first day of issue captioned above. The addition of three older stamps, which were cancelled along with the Bicentennial stamp, make this 1st Day Cover a Combo. The older stamps commemorate the USS Constitution (1947), the Boston State House (1979), and the Landing of the Pilgrims (1970.)
The color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features the State Capitol in Boston.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
