On April 14, 1982, the USPS issued a set of 50 stamps with the State Bird and State Flower of all 50 States. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp, depicting the State Bird (Baltimore Oriole) and State Flower (Black-Eyed Susan) of Maryland, cancelled from the city of issue (Washington, DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) shows a pair of Baltimore Orioles framed by Black-Eyed Susans. The producer of this cover has also written a brief commentary about the Baltimore Oriole and Black-Eyed Susan, which we've included.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
