On May 23, 1949, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the 300th Anniversary of Annapolis, Maryland. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, depicting a map of Annapolis with the Chesapeake Bay and Severn River, cancelled from the city of issue (Annapolis, MD) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) shows the State House and U.S. Naval Academy, both located in Annapolis.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
