MANX CATS 1st Day of Issue Postal Cover 4 MANX Stamps.... On February 8, 1989, the Isle of Man Post Office issued a set of four stamps to celebrate "Manxies" - Manx Cats, divided into "Rumpies" - no tail at all, and "Stumpies" - a mere stump of a tail. Shown here is a genuine First Day of Issue Postal Cover with all four stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Isle of Man Post Office) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the
envelope) features a lovely color drawing of a red tabby with its
characteristic full rounded cheeks, short thick neck, short back, high
rounded rump and long hind legs. There is also a short commentary on the
Manx Cat, which we've included.
Matted in blue, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
