On July 9, 1970, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Statehood of the State of Maine. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, depicting Portland Head Light, cancelled from the city of issue (Portland, ME) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) again features the Portland Head Light, a Colonial Lighthouse commissioned by George Washington.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
