On August 13, 1968, the USPS issued a stamp to honor Lecturer, Abolitionist, and Campaigner for Woman's Rights ...Lucy Blackwell Stone. She helped organize the first national woman's rights convention in 1850 and chartered the American Woman Suffrage Organization. A gifted speaker, her last public address was at the World's Columbian Exposition held in Chicago in 1893. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Dorchester, MA,where she died) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Lucy Stone. This is one of several collectible, historic pieces of Woman's Rights and American History Memorabilia offered by Wall Art Collectbles.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
