The USPS honored Washington Irving's classic, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow with a stamp in 1974. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (North Tarrytown, N.Y.) on the first day of issue (October 10, 1974.)
