LEAFY SEA DRAGON 1st Day Postal Cover Australia Stamp.....
On March 20, 1985, the Australia Post issued a
stamp in its Marine Life Series II - Rare and unusual Australian Marine
Life - for the Leafy Sea Dragon.
Masquerading as a piece of floating weed, the Leafy Sea Dragon is a
long distant cousin of the Sea Horse and is indigenous to the waters of
South Australia and the southern coast of Western Australia. Shown here
is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, depicting the Leafy Sea Dragon, cancelled from the city of issue (Melbourne) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope)
features a photo of the Leafy Sea Dragon. A short commentary printed on
back of the envelope about the Leafy Sea Dragon is also included.
Double matted in green and white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
