On August 24, 1953, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the American Bar Association. Shown here is a genuine FIRST DAY COVER, an envelope with the new stamp ( four of them)cancelled from the CITY OF ISSUE (Boston, MA) on the FIRST DAY OF ISSUE captioned above.
The green-toned cachet (artwork on the envelope) features Lady Justice, the Scales of Justice and the ABA logo. This is the only US stamp issued for the ABA; because of its age and popularity, it is becomming hard to find. Because this cover was addressed, we added an uncancelled World Peace Through Law stamp issued in 1975.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
