On August 24, 1953, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the American Bar Association. Shown here is a genuine FIRST DAY COVER, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the CITY OF ISSUE (Boston, MA) on the FIRST DAY OF ISSUE captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of James O. Broadhead, the first president of the ABA. This is the only US stamp issued for the ABA; because of its age and popularity, it is becomming hard to find.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
