IT ALL STARTED WITH THIS.....In 1215 English nobles required King John to sign a document acknowledging the fact that the king was subject to the rule of law, thereby laying the foundation of today's constitutional law. On June 15, 1965, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the 750th Anniversary of the MAGNA CARTA. Shown here is a genuine FIRST DAY COVER, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the CITY OF ISSUE (Jamestown, VA) on the FIRST DAY OF ISSUE captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features King John surrounded by his nobles signing the Magna Carta. This cover is a great addition to anyone's collection of Law Memorabilia.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
