LAUREL & HARDY 1st Day of Issue Postal Cover LAUREL & HARDY Hirschfeld Stamp....

On August 29, 1991, the USPS issued a stamp to honor the comic duo Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. This stamp was one of five to honor Comedians.  Shown here is a genuine First Day of Issue Postal Cover, an envelope with the Laurel & Hardy Stamp, designed by Al Hirschfeld, cancelled from the city of issue (Hollywood, Ca.) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features drawings of a movie cameraman and the '1918 Grauman's Million Dollar Theatre Los Angeles,' as well a the mask of comedy and the caption,  "Saluting Comedians - Laughter for audiences of yesterday and today 1991."   Collectible, historic, this cover is a piece of Movie postal memorabilia.

Double matted in blue & white, this piece will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
