On April 27, 1994, the USPS issued a set of ten stamps to commemorate Stars of the Silent Screen. One of these were the famous Keystone Cops, created by the talented director & producer, Mack Sennett. The stamp features the artwork of noted cartoonist, Al Hirschfeld. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (San Francisco, Ca.) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the Keystone Cops whose slapstick comedy delighted American and audiences world-wide alike. Collectible, historic, this cover is a piece of movie and postal memorabilia.
