On November 2, 1944, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the country of KoreaIn 1943 and 1944, the U.S. paid homage to thirteen countries that were overrun by Axis powers during WWII. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Washington, DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the American and Korean flags. If you are of Korean heritage, this postal tribute to Korea will be a welcome addition to your family's keepsakes.
