Kites.... On June 7, 1995, Israel issued a set of three stamps to celebrate Kites. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with all three of the large, full-color stamps with tabs, cancelled from the city of issue (Jerusalem, Israel) on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the spectacular postmarks featuring more kits created to cancel these stamps on their 'birthday.'
The unusual gray-toned cachet
(artwork on the envelope) features a scene in a park of people flying
kites, with one man in particular, whose kite is in color and 'flies'
across the envelope.
Double matted in blue & white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
