On April 29, 1986, the USPS issued a stamp to honor legendary jazz pianist and composer Duke Ellington on the 87th anniversary of his birth. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover with his stamp cancelled from the city of issue (New York City) on the first day of issue captioned above.
