On September 16, 1995, the USPS issued a set of ten stamps honoring ten different Jazz Musicians. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp for jazz legend Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong cancelled from the city of issue (Monterey, CA) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Armstong printed on silk surrounded by gold embossing, and an inset of him playing the trumpet.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
