Jackson Pollack Abstract Expressionism 1st Day Cover .... On February 18, 1999, the USPS issued a set of 15 stamps to represent the decade of the 1940's. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover - an envelope with the stamp celebrating Jackson Pollack and Abstract Expressionism Art - cancelled from the city of issue (Dobbins AFB, GA) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet
(artwork on the envelope) depicts Jackson Pollack dripping paint on a
canvas. The first collector of this cover chose to have his name and
address printed on the envelope. We have covered over this with a
sticker that says, "First Day of Issue" in order to make the cover more
visually appealing.
It's double matted in blue & white and will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
