OK...Quick..Who was the first Baseball Player to be honored with a US postage stamp?  Chances are the majority of you would say Babe Ruth if you had been asked on your way to work or sitting in a restaurant.  Since you clicked onto this piece of postal stamp art the obvious answer is Jackie Robinson, whose stamp was issued August 2, 1982 (Babe Ruth followed the following year with his stamp.)  Shown here then is a genuine First Day Cover with the first stamp honoring a baseball player, Jackie Robinson, cancelled from the city of issue (Cooperstown, NY) on the first day of issue mentioned above.

The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features several views of Robinson. Historic, collectible, this is one of the many baseball memorabilia items offered by Wall Art Collectibles.

Double matted in blue & white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
