On March 23, 1990, the USPS issued a set of four stamps commemorating The Classic Films of 1939...Stagecoach, The Wizard of Oz, Gone With the Wind, and Beau Geste.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover in the form of an artist's Proof Card with the Stagecoach stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Hollywood, CA) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the character of outlaw Ringo Kid, played by John Wayne.  Director John Ford thrilled audiences with this classic film combining action with superb story-telling. The producer of this cover has also written a brief commentary of this film; we've made a copy for you.

Matted in blue it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.   ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
