Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover commemorating the Iiwi. It's an envelope with the new stamp cancelled on the first day (June 13,1987) from the city of issue (the USPS Station in Toronto Canada.)
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features this spectacular bird with scarlet and black plumage, and white underwings. A member of the Honey Creeper family, the Iiwi's long, curved beak allows it to sip nectar from even the most stubborn of flowers.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
