On January 6, 1984, the USPS issued a set of four stamps highlighting four different events of the winter Olympics of 1984 held in Yugoslavia. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp celebrating Ice Hockey cancelled from the city of issue (Lake Placid, NY) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a male competitor moving down the ice. Printed on silk, the luminosity of the colors give the artwork a 3-dimensional quality. Historic, collectible, this is a great piece of Ice Hockey Memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included ***
