Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, the postcard with the full-color imprint or 'stamp,' cancelled from the city of issue (Burlington, IA) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The green-toned cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features the Old Capitol Building and Robert Lucas, the 1st governor of Iowa Territory.
