On July 4, 1950, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 150th Anniversary of Indiana Territory. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, depicting William Henry Harrison - the 1st Governor - and the Old Territorial Legislative Hall, cancelled from the city of issue (Vincennes, IN) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) again features the Legislative Hall and Harrison, as well as Groveland, the 'Whitehouse' of Indiana Territory.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
