On  April 10, 2000, the USPS issued a set of five stamps to commemorate the achievements of the Edwin Powell Hubble Telescope. Depicted on the stamps are four different Nebula and one Galaxy. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp featuring the Ring Nebula, located in the constellation Lyra, cancelled from the city of issue (Greenbelt, MD) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a portrait of Galileo Galilei, the first person to use a telescope to observe the heavens. The producer of the cover has written a short commentary about the Ring Nebula and Galileo.  We have made a copy for you.

Double matted in blue & white, it's matted to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
