On  April 10, 2000, the USPS issued a set of five stamps to commemorate the achievements of the Edwin Powell Hubble Telescope. Depicted on the stamps are four different Nebula and one Galaxy. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp featuring the Galaxy NGC 1316 located in the constellation Fornax (Southern Hemisphere), cancelled from the city of issue (Greenbelt, MD) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a portrait of Isaac Newton, inventor of the first reflecting telescope and whose three laws of motion form the basic principles of modern physics. The producer of the cover has written a short commentary about the Galaxy NGC 1316 and Newton.  We have made a copy for you.

Double matted in blue & white, it's matted to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
