Historic Farm Equipment......

On April 5, 2004, the New Zealand Post issued a set of five stamps commemorating Historic Farm Equipment and marking the 100th anniversary of the introduction of the tractor to New Zealand. The five pieces of farm euipment are the Kinnard Haines Tractor, the Fordson F Tractor with Plough, the Burrell Traction Engine, a Threshing Mill, and Duncan's Seed Drill.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with all five stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Stamps Centre Wanganui, NZ) on the first day of issue captioned above.  Note the special postmark depicting a tractor created to cancel these stamps on their 'birthday.'

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the progression to horse-drawn euipment to modern mechanized equipment. Great art, great history, unaddressed, this cover is a collectible, piece of farm and postal memorabilia.

Double matted in green & white, this piece will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included plus a short commentary of Farm Euipment from the back of the envelope***
