On July 28, 1983, the USPS issued a set of four stamps to commemorate the upcoming 1984 Summer  Olympic Games hosted by Los Angeles, and the sport of the Women's High Jump.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp for the High Jump cancelled from the city of issue (South Bend, Indiana) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features an athlete making her jump over the bar. Printed on silk, the luster of the fabric gives the picture an almost 3-dimensional quality.  Historic, collectible, this is a great piece of Pole Vaulting Memorabilia.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
