HEROES of 9/11 - The Pentagon.............

On June 7, 2002, the USPS issued a stamp depicting the now famous photograph taken by Thomas E. Franklin of firefighters William Eisengrein, George Johnson and Daniel McWilliams as they raised the United States flag at Ground Zero.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from one of the three cities of issue (Arlinton, VA) on the first day of issue captioned above.  The other two cities of issue were New York City to honor all the Heroes who performed countless acts of heroism during the attacks on the World Trade Center, and Shanksville, PA to honor the passengers and crew of United Airlines Flight 93.

The black and white cachet features rescue workers with a portion of The Pentagon in the background draped with an American Flag.  Shown above the cachet are the words "Official First Day of Issue."

Double matted in blue and white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame.   ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
