On May 23, 2001, the USPS issued a stamp to Honor Veterans. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above. The addition of four older stamps, which were added to the envelope with the new one and then cancelled along with the new one on its "birthday," make this a Combo...a highly desirable 1st Day Cover. The four older stamps commemorate four wars of the 20th century - WWI (1985), WWII (1946), Korean War (1985), and the Vietnam War (1979.)
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features an Honor Guard at a gravesite as well as the Medal of Honor suspended from above. It's printed on silk and surrounded by gold embossing. Historic, collectible, this is a great piece of military memorabilia with all the bells & whistles.
Double matted in military green & white, this is matted to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
