On February 7, 1980, the USPS issued a set of five stamps celebrating five different Windmills represented by five different states.... a 1720 windmill from Virginia; a 1790 windmill from Rhode Island; a 1793 windmill from Massachusetts; an 1860 windmill from Illinois; and, an 1890 windmill from Texas. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with all five stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Lubbock, TX) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The green toned cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a picture of each windmill. Historic, collectible, this cover pays tribute to five pieces of Farming Americana.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
